Factors influencing the research performance of academic staff in health science at Thammasat University

Abstract

Introduction: The purposes of this research were to study factors influencing on research performance and compare influence’s factors of academic staff in Health Science at Thammasat University.

Method: Correlation research was used to collect data from 230 academic staffs of Health Science at Thammasat University by questionnaire. Data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, multiple regression and F-test.

Results: The result of this research revealed that individual factor and motivation factor research performance were high level, contributory factor was moderate level. All of factors toward research performance were significantly positive relation with amount of research at 0.01 and 0.05 and could be predicted to research performance at 21.10 percents. There was difference in individual factor, motivation factor and contributory factor toward research performance at 0.05 significant level.

Discussion and Conclusion: The study indicated that individual factor, motivation factor and contributory factor effected to have less academic research, not achieve the university’s goal, resulting in quality assurance.
