Abstract

Testing on one sample of asbestos-based and three samples of asbestos-free corrugated roofing tiles disclosed that the water absorption of sample with asbestos was 2.46 per cent and the asbestos-free samples were between 1.59 and 1.71 per cent; for mechanical properties by means of modulus of rupture and rupture resistance for roofi ng sheet sample with asbestos were 80.14 N-m and 35.45 N, respectively, while the modulus of rupture of the three asbestos-free samples was ranged from 83.38 to 86.03 N-m and from 71.45 to 128.18 N for rupture resistance.

Key words: corrugated roofing sheet, asbestos, modulus of rupture, rupture resistance
