Abstract

Objective : To fi nd factors contributing to motivation in the work of staff in Faculty of Nursing Thammasat University. The subjects were 43 staffs in Faculty of Nursing Thammasat University.

Methods : The study is a descriptive research. The subjects were 43 staffs in Faculty of Nursing Thammasat University. The subjects group was chosen using purposive sampling with specifi ed criteria. Data were collected by questionnaire consisted of personal data questionnaire, factors contributing to work motivation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics

Results : The results showed that the mean total score of the factors contributing to work motivation was high level in almost all aspects. The motivation to work as a whole has the highest average was 4.05 (S.D. = .58), followed by recognition with a mean of 3.65 (SD = .58). Only the compensation and benefi ts were in moderate rang; with the lowest score 3.21 (S.D. = 0.65) average.

Conclusion : The most important factor contributing to motivation in the work of staff in Faculty of Nursing Thammasat University was recognition.
