Amidst conflicts and changes in politics, climate and environment of our world, health sciences and alternative medicine have still been driven by the results from high-quality research papers conducted in varied settings around the world. The editorial team of AMJAM which includes Thai and international editors commit to select and publish great research articlesinAMJAM to disseminate advanced and evolving knowledge in the fields of medicine and alternative medicine to its readers. We are now in the process of quality improvement to be well-recognized as an international journal and eventually be accepted in world-renowned scientific citation databases. This process may take some time and our readers will notice these changessoon. For this current issue,AMJAM publishes original articles addressing anti-inflammatory property of different Thai traditional medicine remedies and impact of pterygium, one of the most common eye diseases on tear and dry eye symptoms. Brief research paper should be of interest for those taking care of preschool children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, while the case report section illustrates the interesting cases of warthin-like papillary thyroid carcinoma and hypertrophic pachymeningitis from neuro-behçet’s disease.

It is my great honor to become a new Editor-in-Chief of AMJAM after the previous Editor-in-Chief, Professor Anucha Apisarnthanarak, M.D. who has contributed significantly to the transformation of AMJAM and the improvement of the journal in regards to scientific value and quality of its published articles. With some changes in and new recruitment of the Editorial Board members, we commit to the continuing dissemination of research results in the fields of Medicine and Alternative Medicine and thrive to become one of the leading journals included in worldwide-accepted scientific citation databases. For this current issue, AMJAM publishes original articles addressing medical properties of various Thai traditional remedies, reviews on adult intraosseous infusion and role of digital health in FGIDs and a rare case report of disseminated nocardiosis, which should be of interest and educational among our readers.Thana Khawcharoenporn, M.D., M.Sc.

With the increasing numbers of submissions, we believe that the quality of AMJAM is now improved and several articles were submitted from another countries. Together, these changes reflect the right path of the journal going into the Scopus Index. Our editorial team would like to congratulate the Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University to hold the annual meeting for 2023. The meeting theme this year is “Transformative medicine in the post pandemic era”, which is suitable for the current situation where medical knowledge changes rapidly.
